Job Description Registered Nurse - PACU Schedule Shifts are Monday to Friday, with three 12-hour shifts scheduled between 19:00 - 07:30 and 17:00 - 05:30. There is a requirement for 24 hours of on-call duty within a 6-week period. Night shift nurses may pre-op patients for first cases when there are no patients in the PACU.
Assignment Details Guaranteed hours are 40 per week. Cancelled shifts must match the regular shift length assigned.
Requirements - 1 year of experience required, with a preference for critical care or Level 1 trauma center experience.
- Certifications: BLS, ACLS, Ventilator management, IV start, Telemetry, and Critical Care.
- Experience with managing postoperative patients and recovery from general anesthesia.
- Proficiency in EPIC EMR system.
- Must pass EKG interpretation and management exam.
- Pending license is accepted; however, home address must be at least 75 miles from the facility.
Responsibilities - Provide patient care in the Post Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) for surgical patients.
- Monitor and assess postoperative patients recovering from anesthesia.
- Manage multiple complex patients with various medical conditions and procedures.
- Administer medications, IV therapies, and vasoactive drips as needed.
- Collaborate with the healthcare team to ensure patient safety and effective recovery.
